UK 2012 Tour announced

Thin Lizzy have announced a UK tour for early next year. The legendary rockers, who now feature singer Ricky Warwick, former frontman of The Almighty, will play across the UK in January and February.

Support on all dates will come from US metallers Clutch.

The band, who have not released a studio album since 1983's 'Thunder And Lightning', indicated earlier this year that they are considering recording new material together. Were this to happen, it would mark the first new musicl the band had released since the death of frontman Phil Lynott in 1986.

Thin Lizzy are an Irish hard rock band who formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969. The band were led throughout their recording career by bassist, songwriter and singer Phil Lynott, and are best known for their songs "Whiskey in the Jar", "Jailbreak" and "The Boys Are Back in Town", all major international hits still played regularly on hard rock and classic rock radio stations. After Lynott died, various incarnations of the band have emerged over the years culminating in a more stable line-up based around guitarists Scott Gorham and John Sykes. Sykes left the band in June 2009.

Current Thin Lizzy line up includes Phil Lynott-era members Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton, Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Ted Nugent) on bass, and The Almighty's Ricky Warwick on vocals and second guitar.
