Grand Prix 2011
The 2011 Takedown Grand Prix will be taking place at the Manchester Velodrome on July 31 2011. The event hosts the preliminary rounds of over 60 fights during the first half of the day, with 4 weight category 8 man grand prix tournaments being held in the afternoon.
The best fighters from the previous Takedown events and from around the country have been picked to compete in their weight category in a 3 stage knock out competition. The winners of the four categories will receive £250 prize money for their gym, an assortment of equipment and the Grand Prix Belt itself. All competitors at the event receive medals for their participation.
The event is family friendly and welcomes families with children of all ages. There are many stalls providing essential last minute equipment for fighters, and limited edition Takedown souvenirs from the day. There is a fully licensed bar and hot food available on the premises throughout the day.
The Grand Prix exclusive VIP area will be situated around the four cages, within feet of the action. These areas have their own waitress services and private bar areas to avoid queuing and missing out on any of the fights.
Doors for the Velodrome will open at 10.00 am, with the event lasting all day until 7.00pm.
