The Killers added to line-up

Brandon Flowers' band The Killers have been signed up for the opening night of this year's Hard Rock Calling on Friday 24th June.

It will be the band's first UK show in two years, The Killers last played the event in 2009 - the rest of Friday's line-up has yet to be announced. Drummer Ronnie Vannucci had this to say about the Hyde Park show 'It's been too long, friends... Feels like forever since we've seen each other and now it's time we pay a visit. Have to get the machine oiled and ready to make this kinda thing happen more often. Feeling creative, let's do this'

Living legend Rod Stewart has confirmed that he will headline Hard Rock Calling on Sunday 26 June. With a career spanning nearly half a century, seven number-one hit singles and a further 27 top-ten albums in the UK alone, Rod Stewart is cemented in history as one of the biggest selling artists of all time, and is now set to grace the stage in what marks his first appearance at London’s Hard Rock Calling 2011. It was Rod Stewart’s solo work that really propelled his global superstardom, with hit songs, including Maggie May, You Wear It Well, You’re In My Heart, Da Ya Think I’m Sexy, Sailing and Baby Jane, to name but a few from an illustrious back catalogue that has influenced generations.

Also in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Hard Rock, Grammy Award-winning, all-American rock band Bon Jovi will headline Hard Rock Calling on Saturday June 25th 2011. The band has sold 120 million albums worldwide and performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans. This is your chance to see one of the biggest bands on the planet perform live in London’s own back garden – see you down the front, oh, and don’t forget to raise your hands!

Sunday 26th June sees legendary, Multi-Grammy winning singer Stevie Nicks perform in Hyde Park. Nicks will grace Hyde Park as support to Rod Stewart when she plays Hard Rock Calling on Sunday 26th June. During her hugely sucessful solo career, Stevie has had forty Top 50 hits and sold over 140 million albums.

Hard Rock Calling (formerly Hyde Park Calling) is an annual music festival held in Hyde Park, London, which first took place on Saturday July 1 and Sunday July 2, 2006. The music played is primarily rock music, and various performers, including The Who, Aerosmith, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen have played at the event. The festival is organised by Hard Rock Cafe.
